Farnborough Airshow for Eurofighter

The Farnborough International Air show is a week-long event that combines a major trade exhibition for the aerospace and defence industries with a public air show.

The event is held in mid-July in even-numbered years at Farnborough Airport in Hampshire, United Kingdom. The air show is an important event in the international aerospace and defence industry calendar, providing an opportunity to demonstrate civilian and military aircraft to potential customers and investors.

The show is also used for the announcement of new developments and orders, and to attract media coverage. It is one of the largest air shows that attracts over 100,000 visitors over the five days.

Our client - a specialist exhibition stand contractor working for BAE Systems, was contracted to design and build an exhibition stand for Eurofighter at Farnborough. In turn, our client called upon J & J Carter's expertise to design and manufacture the tensile fabric canopy element.

The canopy is attached to the steel arches with our proprietary double Keder track extrusion and tensioned using catenary boundaries which provide an attractive scalloped detail. The canopy structure is relocatable and such can be used time and time again.
