The Difference Between the CE Mark and the China Export Mark

In recent years it has become more recognised that if a product or machine bears the CE Marking it is safe and trusted. Therefore, it is right to assume that it has met relevant and strict EU standards.

Unfortunately, there exists a similar mark to the European Union CE Mark, that consumers and manufactures may believe is the same, but it is completely different.

This very similar variation of the “CE” mark stands for “China Export” and means that the product or machine was manufactured in China without the right standards to sell into the European market. Although it resembles the European CE Mark, the “CE” marking is not a valid marking and does not respect the dimensions or proportions of the official CE Mark.

It is advised that manufactures and importers should be wary of the use of the China Export mark and that where able, the product is compliant to all CE marking standards.
