Sandown Park Racecourse
J&J Carter undertook the design, manufacture and installation of a 96 metre long x 13 metre span multi bay conic shaped canopy as part of multi million pound refurbishment program to the Sandown Park Racecourse Parade Ring in Esher, Surrey.
The client’s brief was to ensure every canopy module is sectional, so that easy replacements could be performed without having to replace the entire canopy. The Parade Ring canopy gives the appearance of being a single canopy, however it is made up of eight identical membranes, with valley connection membranes clamped to the catenary edges in the latitudinal directions.
