The City Academy, Hackney

J & J Carter is thrilled to have played a pivotal role in the development of this cutting-edge academy.

Situated in the Homerton district of the London Borough of Hackney, The City Academy is a prestigious coeducational secondary school and sixth-form institution with academy status. It stands as one of the nation's leading academies, specialising in business and financial services while offering a comprehensive curriculum to any state school.

This remarkable institution was meticulously designed and constructed through the collaborative efforts of the City of London's City Surveyor's Department, Studio E Architects, and the renowned contractor, Willmott Dixon. Notably, Willmott Dixon, recipient of the esteemed "School Contractor of the Year" award at the time, entrusted J & J Carter with the task of conceptualising, fabricating, and installing an exceptional cycle parking shelter.

Our team engineered a remarkable cantilever structure boasting an impressive 2.5-meter span and a sprawling 25-meter length. To ensure both durability and aesthetics, we adorned it with a barrel vault canopy crafted from top-tier Verseidag Type 2 white PVC, enhanced with a weldable PVDF lacquer. This meticulous attention to detail culminates in a product backed by a robust 10-year warranty, guaranteeing long-lasting quality.
