J & J Carter were asked to design, manufacture and install a tensile fabric structure at Brighton Marina.

The tensile membrane installed not only provides a recognisable feature for sailors entering the harbour, but also resolved a planning issue. The canopy is connected at five fixed points which have adjustable turnbuckle connections. The saddle form provides a membrane surface of 70 square metres. The membrane is made from Type 3 Structure Grade PVC Coated Polyester with a 10 Year warranty, and tensioned using Stalok's stainless steel catenary and link tension cables.
