Exeter College is located at the heart of Oxford, adjoining the Bodleian Library. The College, the fourth oldest at the University, has occupied its current site on Turl Street since 1315, one year after it was founded. Today Exeter is home to a diverse community of fellows and students from across the world.
Today the college has more than 11,000 students over a number of campuses with courses in the arts, construction, engineering, modern languages, business, science and technology and is rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
J & J Carter were contracted to build a number of canopies in a range of styles to provide protection from the weather across the college campuses. In some locations, the college selected our pre-engineered products, and in others we designed customised structures to meet specific needs, such the covering of a tight space outside the St David’s Study Centre.
In all the following products were built :-
Victoria House - 2 No. 6m Savannah Pagodas
The Yard - 1 No. 7m Hypar Canopy
St. Davids - 1 No. 75 sq.m Customised Hypar Canopy
Technology Centre - 1 No. 5m Savannah Pagoda
Construction Centre - 1 No. 6m Savannah Pagoda
All structures were constructed from a painted mild steel frame, which is UKCA marked to EN1090. Canopies were made using a high-tenacity PVC Coated Polyester.
Delivery was performed within 10 weeks from placement of order, and installation over a 4 week period to fit in with the client’s schedule.
