Choosing the Best Temporary Structure for Your Event

Do you require a temporary structure for an upcoming event, festival, product launch, corporate meeting, or private party? If you are striving to organise the most incredible event for your audience, you will understand how important it is to select the right venue and event contractors to provide your guests with the most memorable experience.

Choosing an event structure is an integral part of event organisation and it can be a daunting experience: with so much on offer, what is the best way to go about selecting a structure that ticks all the boxes – in terms of aesthetics, price and safety? Before making your decision, consider the following points and best practice recommendations.

Types of Marquees, Tent and Structures

J & J Carter takes pride in our knowledge and experience in the production of event structures. We only provide high-quality, tailored solutions, providing our customers with long-lasting structures and friendly service at no extra cost. We offer event structures from traditional marquees, striking and dramatic tension tents to a completely customisable multi-storey structure.

Traditional Marquees

Traditional marquee structures all have one thing in common: the cover is the main structural element. Our range of aluminium framed marquee structures has been designed by our experienced professionals. The perfect structure for outdoor weddings and corporate events, our marquee structures encompass high-grade materials and fabrication.

Frame marquees are often referred to as "clear span" structures which can be in widths up to 50m with no intermediate pole supports. Because they have a solid frame this type of marquee can accept a higher level of accessories, such as doors, windows, rigid side panels and sophisticated flooring systems. Our clearspan marquees are flexible, cost-effective and customisable as the modular framework allows you to extend to any shape or length. With no centre poles, you can free up needed central space and erect your marquee on all surfaces, including tarmac, paving or concrete.

Multi-deck Structures

Multi-deck structures can be either double, triple or quad-level structures. The top floor is of a standard clear span aluminium frame design with the lower floors being constructed from an integral steel upright and horizontal beam system. J & J Carter's KUBE is a completely customisable modular multi-storey structure, engineered to the highest of specifications, perfect for your next branded event.

Tension Tent Marquees

Funky shapes in a wide variety of colours characterise tension tents which use a special technical fabric that is stretchy but also provides structural stability. The fabric is anchored at its corners and along its sides, and then poles of different lengths are pushed up to create iconic shapes. The adaptability of stretch tents makes them ideal for festivals, corporate parties, weddings, garden parties and more!

Consider Your Event Space and Location

Your available space and location will play a significant role in determining which event structure is best for you. It has the potential to influence who attends. The number of people who attend will be limited if your venue is in an undesirable location or too far from transportation systems. Is the ground strong enough to support a structure as well as wear and tear from visitors?

Branded Event Structure

All successful corporate events have memorable branding, which allows you to showcase what your business is all about. Creating an atmosphere that is relevant to your topic and appealing to your audience is an important part of organising an engaging event.

With so many branding options, our printed event structures can be digitally printed with any logo, design and colours to provide maximum impact for your next event, where and when you need it. Our stylish temporary structures are perfect for trade shows, viewing parties, sporting events, product launch, corporate hospitality and more. The possibilities are truly endless.

MUTA Membership

Here at J&J Carter, we are proud to be an accredited member of MUTA - Made-Up Textiles Association. While MUTA membership and compliance are not a legal requirement, all members must follow its HSE-recognised best practice guide.
