J & J Carter Joins MUTA Committee

J & J Carter are pleased to announce that our Managing Director, Robert Carter, has been elected to join the Executive Committee for the Made-Up Textiles Association (MUTA). With more than 170 members representing marquee hirers, manufacturers and suppliers, MUTA plays an instrumental role for the textile industry at Government level. 

Robert has over 25 years’ experience in the industry and follows in his father's footsteps, who also served on the MUTA Committee. Robert also serves on the BSI working group "B/525/0-/05 Tensile Membrane Structures Design and Construction".

Members of the MUTA committee follow a highly regarded Best Practice Guide, which they are inspected against to ensure MUTA's long-established objectives are being met. Some of these include:

  • Promoting best practise in the temporary events structure industry for the benefit of the general public
  • Facilitating networking and cooperation within the industry and its immediate constituency
  • Instigating the creation and implementation of appropriate standards and regulations
  • Consolidating MUTA's position as the 'voice' of the industry

MUTA provides its' members with continuous support for professional and business development, a service that has been of paramount importance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Along with his brother Charlie, Robert has grown J & J Carter to be a diverse business, specialising in custom built tensile fabric structures and biogas storage systems. Based in Hampshire, J & J Carter resides on a self-contained 1.5-acre site with a 2000m2 membrane production hall, and a 400m2 metal fabrication shop. From here, Robert and Charlie deliver high-quality products and projects all around the world.
